Hello, we are excited to announce over the next few months we are doing a special series of posts here on the Stamp Review Crew Blog featuring some of the Crew Members. We asked our crew member a series of questions to help you get to know them better. The Stamp Review Crew Hops wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for all these talented stampers coming together to share their love of stamping.

We are giving a big shout out to Kelly Kent, a very talented lady! Kelly has been part of the crew team since March 2016. You can visit her blog My Paper Craft Journey to see all her fabulous creations!

We asked Kelly to tell us a little bit about her family and where she lives:

Hi, I’m Kelly Kent and I live on the west coat of Australia in a country town about 2 hours from the major city of Perth.  My little family consists of my husband “Mr Papercraft” and 3 kids – two Little Miss Papercraft and one Master Papercraft.  I’m lucky to have my parents close by including “Nanna Papercraft” who shares my love of stamping.

We asked Kelly to tell us a little about herself:

My professional role is as Paediatric Speech Pathologist working in a private practice clinic two days per week.  I have always been crafty and enjoyed making things, so stamping was the perfect hobby to pick up over 10 years ago.  Stamping is a wonderful way to find creativity in life, have something that is just for me and has created the most wonderful network of amazing people.

We asked what led you to stamping?

I was invited to attend a workshop by a friend and was instantly hooked.  I stopped into the local craft store on the way home to buy supplies because I was too impatient to wait for my Stampin’ Up! order to arrive.  We are on the other side of a very big country to the SU! warehouse, so it often takes weeks for those gorgeous Big Brown Boxes to arrive!

What do you love most about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?

The people I now know and call my closet friends because of our shared passion for stamping.

How would you describe your crafting style?

I love clean lines, straight design and using patterned paper.  Oh, and white embossing and white twine!

Do you have something you like to create specifically?

Birthday cards are my favourites.  There’s nothing that attracts me to a Stampin’ Up! stamp set like a wonderful ‘happy birthday’ stamp.

What is your favorite Stampin’ Up! Tool and Why?

My heat tool.  There’s a lot of magic in heat embossing – both to see the powder change and to have as an effect on a card.

What is your favorite current Stampin’ Up! Product and why?

DSP – I buy every pattern in every catalogue and I’m yet to meet a DSP that I don’t like, though I definitely have favourite patterns within packs.  I see-saw between hoarding the favourites so they don’t run out and using them on every card!  My biggest disappointment is when two favourite DSP patterns are back-to-back on a sheet and I have to choose which side to use!

Do you have a tip for all the crafters out there?
Create cards in multiples – send one as intended and keep one for later.  When the keep for later pile gets too large, give sets of cards away to family & friends. They’ll love having handmade cards in their draw to be able to give to others and it gives you a reason to keep creating!

Kelly shared a fun group of projects with us today. Head on over to her blog: My Paper Craft Journey to see all the details and supply list about this project! Kelly used the Summer Days to create her projects.

We are so happy to have Kelly as part of our crew and we look forward to seeing all of the wonderful creations she comes up with in the future. If you would like to see more of Kelly’s work be sure to visit her blog My Paper Craft Journey. Be sure to keep an eye on the Stamp Review Crew for upcoming hops and more crew interviews.

Thanks for joining us!
