Hello, we are excited to announce over the next few months we are doing a special series of posts here on the Stamp Review Crew Blog featuring some of the Crew Members. We asked our crew member a series of questions to help you get to know them better. The Stamp Review Crew Hops wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for all these talented stampers coming together to share their love of stamping.
We are giving a big shout out to Lou Kitzelman a very talented lady! Lou has been part of the crew team since October 2017. You can visit her blog With a Bow on Top to see all her fabulous creations!
We asked Lou to tell us a little bit about her family and where she lives:
Lou lives on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia with her husband and crafting companion Millie, the very beautiful Maine Coon Cat. Lou says where she lives is on the east coast and they have a beautiful tropical climate, perfect for beach going pretty much all year around! I am lucky to have a great home craft studio where I spend time creating and teaching classes. Like many of us, 2020 brought a lot of challenges so much of my teaching has been done via Zoom from my studio but I am hoping in-person classes can soon resume.
We asked Lou to tell us a little about herself:
I love all things crafty and have been creating things ever since I can remember. My main passion is paper crafts but I also love sewing, watercolouring and gift making …. anything that allows my creative side to come out really! My other hobbies include reading, gardening, Pilates and swimming. I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for 6 years.
We asked what led you to stamping?
I have always made cards for my family and as I grew older I progressed from colour pencils to stamping after receiving them as a Christmas present. I love the creativity you can use with stamping … oh the techniques still left to try and discover!
Why did you decide to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?
I have used Stampin’ Up! products ever since they hit Australian shores and after a few years decided to become a Demontrator to not only get the discount on my products but more importantly to join a great team of people who have become very close and dear friends. The amazing friendships I have developed while being a Demonstrator are almost more important than the wonderful products!
What do you love most about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?
I love being able to get my hands on new products first, being able to attend events with my Stampin’ besties and be part of a creative, supportive community.
How would you describe your crafting style?
I would say I am eclectic. I range from super simple to very intricate, depending on my mood, current phase and occasion I am creating for.
Do you have something you like to create specifically?
I really love making and designing 3D cards and card folds.
What is your favorite Stampin’ Up! Tool and Why?
Oh so many! I would be lost without my Take Your Pick Tool. It is so handy and I use it every time I create.
What is your favorite current Stampin’ Up! Product and why?
I normally love whatever I am using at the time! My favourites change so often but one love that never changes is Dimensionals! Everything looks better jacked up on Dimensionals. They are the high heels of the crafting world and I would be lost without them!
Do you have a tip for all the crafters out there?
Just enjoy it. If you get lost in the process the end product is almost irrelevant. Don’t get stressed about creating. Just lose yourself in it – it’s the best form of therapy!
Lou shared a fun project with us today. Head on over to her blog: With a Bow On Top to see all the details and supply list about this project! Lou used the Hey Chick Bundle and Hey Birthday Chick Bundle to create her project.
We are so happy to have Lou as part of our crew and we look forward to seeing all of the wonderful creations she comes up with in the future. If you would like to see more of Lou’s work be sure to visit her blog With a Bow on Top. Be sure to keep an eye on the Stamp Review Crew for upcoming hops and more crew interviews.
Thank you for joining us!
